Sundance on the Loonie Slide
“The deadline to announce the decision to extend is tomorrow, July 1st. There is no deadline on the timeline to announce an exit or withdrawal from the USMCA. That announcement can happen at any time.
Put simply, announcing a non-renewal is a 10-year exit. Announcing a withdrawal is a 6-month exit. The announcement to withdraw can come at any time after the statement of non-renewal.”

However, Canada will still be oblivious to what comes next because their media will tell them they have a decade to work things out. They don’t.
Three possibilities:
-A slow but steady take over of our resources by China (they will bring their own manpower)
-the CAD continues to lose value against the major currencies as job loses mount
-the US makes a merger offer we can’t refuse when we hit rock bottom
Not in any order
I prefer the US over China. Makes sense for N America to be one political unit after the last decade of destruction of the country.
I really cannot imagine the US allowing / enabling China to continue assuming control over Canada. The safety and security of North America depends on Canada / Mexico and US cooperation (or merger offers that cannot be refused).
A takeover of Canada would likely be accomplished faster than the recent takeover of Venezuela & removal of Maduro — that took how long — a weekend perhaps?
TOMORROW IS CANADA DAY BTW….HAPPY BIRTHDAY
