So now justice (access to lawsuit dollars), must happen at the individual citizen or (TAX ID Number for institutions) level and all the IRS has to do is get Americans or organizations to agree ‘negotiated settlement’ or ‘arbitration’ agreements (perhaps when we sign our next filing), or have similar legislation passed – whichever is most politically expedient
IMO this is a complete FOLD on the DJT’s initial effort (admirable as it may have started out) – BIG Money ALWAYS wins.

President Trump’s DOJ has launched an over $1.7 BILLION reimbursement fund for Americans wrongfully targeted by the Biden DOJ — and the fake news is melting down!
TRUMP: “This is reimbursing people that were HORRIBLY treated, horribly treated. It’s anti-weaponization!”
“They’ve been weaponized. They’ve been in some cases imprisoned wrongly. They paid legal fees that they didn’t have.”
“They’ve gone bankrupt. Their lives have been destroyed. And they turned out to be right!”
“I mean, it was a terrible period of time in the history of our country. And they worked on it. I know the Justice Department, it’s really been working on it very hard.”
To elaborate – instead of a single class action lawsuit being brought against the IRS by the DOJ on behalf of the citizens wronged and the DOJ dispenses any award $, the institution of the IRS remains unaffected * and it is up to the individual claimants/organizations wronged to sue for a portion of the funds (Trump and his kids among them).
This is a win for LAW FIRMS and the machine who gets to extract it pound of flesh before those wronged see some sort of monetary justice (btw is there really a ‘price’ for destroying someone’s life?). If I’ve been wronged I must now file a lawsuit, get a lawyer pay legal fees out of any settlement (get 50cents on the dollar) etc etc.
If/when a new regime gets put in place, getting access to those funds will be hardened (arbitration clauses), am I wrong or will the lefitits never regain power. Just my opinion that in this case Trump should have stuck to his guns and not played the settlement game. * It’s a good bet the IRS needn’t “make any admission of guilt or wrongdoing”.
It’s irritating that someone I expected to FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT (esp against the IRS) TO THEN SETTLE.
Consider this also (along the lines of the LEGAL SWAMP benefiting)- with all the evidence against Manginone (UHG CEO Shooter), 17 months later they are still litigating the admisibility of the contents of his backpack – It surely wouldn’t have taken this long had the victim been a nobody – like say SETH RICH (/ SARC). Another kick to the head for anyone seeking justice IMO.
