   I don’t know what happened to this guy because around 10 years ago he was a total globalist hack. He has come around 180 degrees. Good for him, nice to see some people even though they are funded by the establishment can see truth and change their views.

     I was familiar with Sachs from the mid to late 80s, when he WENT to Latin America to see what their debt crises were really about. (Bankers pulling loans, just as contractions set in, and dollars became both harder to come by and cost more in terms of local currency, all at once. Thanks to Fed policy that ignored foreign repercussions.)

     In later years, he was again, often in the trenches as a development economist, and didn’t confine himself to some ivory tower. Meaning, basically, he was an applied economist. The empirical type. Yes, a leftie, from Harvard, hanging out mostly with other Keynesians. But Milei learned what he did first hand, seeing exactly what Sachs had to have also seen for himself. Yes, it can take awhile to break from the pack. But he also parted from the narrative over covid. He thinks for himself. No doubt he’s ruffled some feathers. More need to join him.
