T-Mobile should go the way of Budweiser and Target

   What’s the best alternative to T-Mobile? I have had a T-mobile act forever. They have always been good, but this is outrageous

   The Terms Of Service T-Mobile instituted is not the equivalent of a company going woke. It appears that T-Mobile is just the first carrier to institute requirements being mandated to them, something I expect all the others to eventually follow. How to stop the madness? Get rid of your mobile phone!

   I’ll share a positive personal T-Mobile story: I switched to T-Mobile way back when AT&T attempted stealing from me and wouldn’t correct their intentional ‘mistake’ that was no doubt used to steal from many. At first, I might have had a contract with T-Mobile, but it’s been so long that I haven’t had a contract that I don’t remember. I just pay monthly, with no contract. The plan I have dates back probably more than 20 years, under which I have unlimited worldwide data. It’s $60/month. Through that data, the plan allows me to have everything I need while traveling, including internet, texts, WhatsApp, GPS position, taxi apps, etc., etc. I don’t need or use expensive international voice calls through the calling plan, only through WhatsApp, which is free.

   Once a year, I call T-Mobile to ask if they have a better plan. Without exception, when the rep looks at my plan they always say, don’t EVER change plans! To get unlimited worldwide data on a new plan apparently costs a lot more.

   The kicker was in early February of this year, just before leaving for Russia. I called T-Mobile and said I had a silly question, but wanted to ask anyway: With the sanctions situation, would my phone still work in Russia, through my T-Mobile account? I was amazed by the answer: YES!

   So, during 2 1/2 months of travel earlier this year and again now, I have internet throughout Russia, along with all the apps. This kind of thing is amazing to me any day of the week, but especially now, given the crazy global situation.

   If I thought that dropping T-Mobile would help stop big brother, I would. But since it won’t, I’m keeping this old plan, at least for now.

   Both a control issue and a money grab. If they are allowed to fine you based on some undefined “standard” of behavior you can be sure they are going to nitpick and fine as many people as possible for as many things as they can come up with. Total money grab. They aren’t profitable so they just created an additional revenue source they can dial up whenever they need it.

   This will get interesting, I’m afraid.
   I’m on a TM mvno, named Tello. Nothing from them yet.

   But recently, I had reason to install TM (wireless) internet at my prior location. So then we’re talking not just about content over a phone, but everything done on your PC. Night and day for me.

   No, this isn’t Woke driven like the other two.
   Instead, this can easily lead to censorship, which is far worse.
   I can’t access X or YT from my main browser, because I’m in violation of their TOS (unsupported browser, or use of Ad Blockers). This is the AOL walled garden story, all over again. Writ large.
