Years ago, on a visit to Brazil in the mid to late 80s, I noticed that the cab drivers in the cities would basically drive down the main arteries at night without ever stopping for the red lights. Safer for them (and the passengers) than stopping for the lights!
In the 90’s in Cleveland, Ohio you did not have to stop for stop signs or red lights at night in certain areas. There were a lot of derelict areas. Probably still are.
My Brother was dating a US Border Officer at the time. I’m not sure if she was armed but she thought nothing of it and she was the driver. It was an eyeopener.
I’m sure she would have run them down if attacked. Detroit had the same problem.
Our morons would outlaw assault vehicles.
