What’s up with Secova Metals? TSXV:SEK
There was a trading halt issued at the end of 2019 because they seemed to have missed a deadline for filing financials for the last year. Now on Google Finance, my portfolio tracker, the symbol has just gone dead, no data at all.
Anybody know what’s going on with them? I can’t find any news for them at all for 2020. They merged? Bought out? Carried off by Sasquatch?
I read somewhere that documents were submitted to exchange
For approval to trade again.
Don’t know if reliable.
Thanks Mserr. At least it sounds like they still exist. Their company website domain name hasn’t been renewed and will lapse soon.
Spock may have more info. It’s sitting in my portfolio having apparently lost 99.9% of its value. I think its been de-listed. Appears to be another write-off. Never again, lol.
Well, I guess the proverbial 100% loss in stocks was bound to happen at least once. Thanks for the info.
Turns out it was only 3% of my original capital since I was good and only bought Spock’s recommended 3% allocation. Yesterday the whole portfolio gained 3.5% There’s a lot of psychology in trading and dealing with losses is half the battle.
Are you sure?
I believe I still am obligated to fill out at least one US form for it annually. I don’t know how to get rid of it.
One good thing is that for a while I was getting spam from someone involved in the private placement for his new company. The spam has stopped.
I don’t get it. Sekova had great properties. The person in charge had a good history with Oban. (I don’t feel it’s so out of place to note that Spock said to avoid Oban. I bought a bunch and bought more when it went down and made a killing as it turned into OSK — cashed in those chips. I don’t think it’s so out of place pointing to imperfections of those who point to others’ imperfections.)
That’s a interesting question. How does one get rid of such a thing if you can’t sell it? I guess it must eventually disappear from your account if there’s no listing for it.
Record the capital loss is my reco
They are all good, from what I am hearing. Resolving filing issues with Canadian Marxist regulators.
Oh Canada … what happened to you?
Thanks for this update.
Yes, thanks Spock for the update.
Hi everyone, I just got back from traveling to visit my folks, and texted the ceo of SEK to ask what was going on. He replied that the auditors have all the documents and they are awaiting the final review. He also said once the Cease Trade Order lifts, there will be a lot of good news. So I’d say hang in there yet.
Well that sounds great. I guess it’s just like Spock was saying, it’s all just a matter with the regulators and the company is fine –or even better than fine! Thanks, Banimal.
