   I read everything Bill Murohy and friends had to say for the first 10 years or so

   I was a full on raving Gold Manipulation Freak !

   Then after giving up on the manipulation all day every day theme which did nothing but lose me money….following these PERMA BULLS

   After hooking up with Rambus and learning Chartology and I actually for the first time started to make and keep profits in the PMs…trading BOTH ways.

   These guys have been screaming Manipulation for twenty years

   They screamed manipulation all the way from $250 Gold in 2000 to $1900 Gold in 2011 and on and on it goes to this day.

   None of them ever tried to explain how if the market was manipulated 24 7 365 the price of gold went up in a parabolic fashion .

   Following GATA and King World news and all the perm bulls is a sure way to lose money.

   This was the raison d etre for this site.

     I am completely shocked that people follow this guy and king world news – or jimmy Sinclair – these guys as well as a host of other perma bulls have done a serious disservice to our sector
     Manipulation my ass- gold going from 35 an ounce to 1900 is not manipulation
     Best not to listen to these people – stick to rambus and a few other analysts and people should be fine

   I’m with Fully on this one. Who knows, it may happen one day, but in the meantime don’t entrust your savings to a one way theory which might not play out in your lifetime. Trust the charts – it’s safer.

   As a former Murphy subscriber for many years, probably one of his earliest, I also would like to comment.

   Unless one has a strange definition of manipulation, I do not see how one can reasonably deny the existence of manipulation in various markets. Gold probably has to be manipulated, including by central bankers. I believe there’s ample evidence. Even if there weren’t, one would have to be suspicious if only because central bankers simply wouldn’t be doing their jobs (whether one likes what they do or not) if they didn’t play around with gold markets to affect currency prices, inflation rates, and so forth. It’s the sort of thing they’re supposed to be doing–manipulating things to stabilize things. No big deal. One of the things they would be expected to do.

   As far as using manipulation as the basis for investment — horrible idea.

   As far as those describing manipulation: I think they vary. Chris Powell, for example, I think investigates carefully and writes without “screaming”, often with a wry sense of humor. I do not necessarily agree with him on many things, but I do tend to respect him. Other than for some of the company he keeps. Such as Murphy. I am unsure of the propriety of quoting email exchanges, or commenting on him w/o having looked at this video, but in my own personal opinion in an exchange or two I was matter of fact, in keeping with facts and consistency to facts, and (I did not tease or try to provoke, as I sometimes do here for fun), whereas in my opinion his responses were, in their remarkable inconsistency, a mirror image of those MSM figures he so loved to attack. It was not that he was criticizing or attacking me, but rather that to me he seemed to be rather like the MSM figures in the way he handled certain situations and people in his messages. I felt the lack of self-awareness odd. I had about a half a year’s subscription left but stopped looking at it in disgust. The “screaming” and KWN in general I treat as little better as noise. Powell can be informative. Too bad he hasn’t had a column in a major financial outlet or something like that.

   No worries, guys. I didn’t mean to offend anyone on this site with this post (or any other post).
   And no, I am not headed for an underground bunker just yet.
   It has been a very long time since I’ve listened to Bill Murphy and/or visited his web site… maybe 2002 or 2003?
   However, much of what he said in this video resonates with me. One big unknown is the timeline for everything to play out.
   Back in 1981 when the S&L crisis erupted, I thought that we were getting really close to the endgame and I bought some gold and silver… big mistake.
   Oh well, live and learn.

     If I had had spare cash in 1981 I would have bought gold. Frankly I don’t know that it will prove to have been a bad decision to have bought back then. It is just taking a bit of time.

     I am not joking.

     They have been trying to push off crises into the future with gimmickry for all too long. It may really blow up.
