   Yes, too fast, too fast. Without consolidations there are no supports built along the way. Leaves the door open to a possible big tumble later on.

     The comment about gaps might even have been in Edwards and Magee, though I don’t think so. (Haven’t looked at their work for years, and never used that stuff all too much but there’s more in reviewing their book than multi-year subscriptions to 9 dozen newsletters of perhaps all but an extreme best put together, I suspect.)

     I personally suspect–and hope–that in many cases the prices go back to some of moving averages and bounce off them. That’s what I expect and hope for to the slight extent I haven’t quite finished preparing for a possible big move up.

     (Following Schwager, if I recall his work correctly, I’m inclined to think that it is probably treacherous to rely on particular moving averages, so I won’t name numbers. I play around with them. If it works only for magical moving averages it’s suspect and treacherous.)

   Whoops–I had a comment that I wrote out that I did not hit the right button for, so it did not appear. The comment above was supposed to follow it. Here’s my original comment, approximately–

   Contrary to the usual recitations I do not think that gaps necessarily have to be filled. I have not done a careful study of the matter, but I believe I have read this statement in a work by someone rigorous like Jack Schwager (or maybe, as I noted in what I thought was my 2nd comment, Edwards and Magee). I think it’s only that a careful review shows that gaps often–probably usually–tend to get filled, but not always.

   (I personally am not entirely happy. I had been calmly adding and readjusting when all this stuff started happening and was not quite finished. I will not be too miserable at all if gaps get filled, as probably will occur.)

     Top gaps are never filled but bottom gaps do get filled.
