Gold is still the same as it was in 2000: a 24 karat oz in pure form.
Silver is still the same it was in 2000 pure 9999 proof.
Hui may have changed slight in the mix few companies but gold miners.
But can not speak for DJIA??
What was the composition of Dow then and now??
If some one can figure out the Index level based on the same mix of stocks then the story of DJIA will be different.
These indices goal post keep changing as time goes on.

So let’s see. Gold topped out on August 23 at $1920, since falling ~60% to 1150.
SP-500 was at 1162 back then, now 2239, or a 92% gain.
WHY does anyone buy gold with that kind of a record?
