A lot of y’all are seeing red auroras. You’re seeing the top of the aurora.

But if you see blue or purple, that’s a sign of something RARE! The intense solar activity is allowing energetic, charged particles to reach lower into the atmosphere (down to 60 miles above the ground). That’s something we usually only see with the strongest solar storms!
