Listened to CBC this morning in BC and in 5 years time the NDP will mandate that 90% of new vehicle sales must be EV shitboxes.

Parliament has sat for only 21 days this year , once he sends troops to Ukeville to catch bullets then he can declare war and stifle any hopes of election. As long as he plays the TDS crowd, he will get the votes.,
Comical. I doubt the infrastructure for all those EVs will even be in place and neither will the ability to fix the EVs when they break down. Many repair shops won’t touch EVs. They haven’t the slightest idea how to fix those computers on wheels. Sure, some are adapting, but I doubt in 5 years enough will be ready. Who knows. I won’t buy one because my son services our beaters. He hates EVs.
Many older highrise condo/rental buildings are not equipped to bring in underground EV chargers and have decided they can not do the infrastructure upgrades or shoulder the increased insurance costs. Other than those folk hanging onto their gas powered vehicles, they would be without wheels. Older townhouse condos are in the same position. They want you in 15 min cities and no rural inhabitants by 2050 except those maintaining the re-wilding of N America.
Carbon Tax 2.0 will not go over well and should trigger a call for an election in the Fall.
