HUI represents (represented?) the UNHEDGED miners of yesteryear.
Gold would go up, but only the unhedged would really capitalize.
That tended to be the larger So African miners. I think there’s more country risk there now.
The others were selling forward.
The other issue facing GDXJ and juniors in general is dilution operations.
Gold itself may go up, but share price can’t rally if that share becomes an ever smaller stake in the whole/hole.
If someone forged an ETF named HUI with some tight membership rules, and stuck with them …..
You can pitch it to the large ETF companies. The “pd non dilution gold and silver mining ETF”.
