the passes at the TN NC were also closed. 40 at Black Mtn (mudslide over hiway)

Thanks to Joel for the early heads up; so I broke camp at 3am earlier today to complete the (much longer) trip before dark.
On my first trip to the AVL area, arriving in August, I heard that the area had received 27 inches in July and 3 foot wide creeks spanned 50 ft wide.
It has no place to go.
