EW shouldn’t be applied to individual stocks (but is).
Its meant to be used to get a read on sentiment for popular investment asset classes, and be interpreted accordingly.
I guess if gold itself continues to become more and more unpopular, one could make the case to stop doing EW even on gold. (sarc)
Bugs should probably be urging the Chinese to getting along with His Orangeness, and sign a trade deal. Then it would be Sell The News for SPX. Cause, what’s left after that?
