UK must act ‘with a sense of humility’ when dealing with powerful companies such as Meta, Google and Microsoft, according to Peter Kyle, the technology secretary.

He warned that such an approach was critical if the UK was to navigate successfully the pressing national security challenges around the development of new future AI models, which he likened to a “moon race” among tech companies.

“I’m very acutely aware that I can’t sit here in my office in Whitehall and instruct that world to do what I want it to do as secretaries of state have been able to do in the past,” he warned.

It cannot be reasonably argued that, without the lockdowns, mandates, and political prosecutions, none of what Trump is now doing would even be imaginable, much less on approach for a safe landing. As the President reportedly observed at a Mar-a-Lago event last night, in 2016 he was dogged by Democrat debate that he lost the popular vote, and thus had no mandate.

That slender reed of an argument, that thin straw, was enough to fill up the tank of political fuel powering the so-called “Resistance” movement. The Resistance’s progressive ranks were, as you well know, padded out by squishy Republicans who successfully opposed Trump’s entire agenda and gummed up the machinery worse than an aging relative who clicks on every pop-up offering to “Clean Your Computer Now!”

Corporate media’s talking heads can analyze the data all they want. But there is a simple explanation for why Trump was elected. He was elected because America is pissed off. It’s no more complicated than that. Corporate media keeps crying about how President Trump wants revenge. They’re missing the real story, maybe intentionally.

We want revenge for lost jobs. We want revenge for lost small businesses. We want revenge for boys cheating girls out of their athletic trophies. We want revenge for bizarre cross-dressers appointed to high offices. We want revenge for wretched drag queens exposing themselves on the White House lawn. We want revenge for the “Pride” flag hoisted above Old Glory. We want revenge for $7 butter, for open borders, for children’s lost educational attainment, for “six foot distancing,” for streets lined with homeless tents, for sneering, hubristic elites commanding trust in “the science,” for soccer moms raided by FBI SWAT teams, for raw political prosecutions, for lives ruined by fentanyl, for euthanized pet squirrels and cats butchered by Haitians, for kids sterilized by trans-affirmed drugs, for elderly parents dying alone, and for chronic, untreatable, disabling vaccine injuries.

“Revenge” is not just, as corporate media feared, Trump’s prosecution of the real insurrectionists who overthrew the 2020 election. What revenge really looks like is quickly and surely becoming abundantly and painfully clear.

While it is a bit early to sound the all clear on the resumption of the precious metals bull market, the positive signs that the bottom is in, are starting to mount. Yesterday, based on the action and chart of Hecla, which is often a leader in terms of being ahead of moves for the metals and silver in particular, I said to take a position as the liklihood of further downside, for that specific stock, was minimal. That was clearly the correct call.

Today, we are seeing very positive action in both gold and silver, given that equities are considerably weak. One day doesn’t make a trend, but it has been the missing piece that many of us have been waiting for. The rollover of equities, while gold and silver and the miners, breakout to the upside, will be the final confirmation for the next leg of the precious metals, major bull market.

As I have noted recently in posts and comments, it is likely that we see backing and filling for the rest of November, as that is the usual seasonal pattern, particularly for silver.

However, nothing about usual patterns, seems to describe what we have experienced in markets, this year. Therefore, any surprises from here, are likely to be to the upside, as far as the metals and miners, are concerned.

Chinese-owned meat processing giant Smithfield has been fined $2 million to resolve a child labor compliance dispute with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. Local paper Minnesota Reformer reports a Minnesota DLI investigation from 2021 and 2023 found at least 11 children between the ages of 14 and 17 worked at Smithfield’s St. James area plant.

“It is unacceptable for a company to employ minor children to perform hazardous work late at night. This illegal behavior impacts children’s health, safety and well-being and their ability to focus on their education and their future,” DLI Commissioner Nicole Blissenbach wrote in a statement, adding, “Combatting unlawful child labor in Minnesota is a priority for DLI and it will continue to devote resources to addressing and resolving these violations.”
