{"id":705836,"date":"2026-09-04T11:18:25","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T15:18:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/goldtadise.com\/?p=705836"},"modified":"2026-09-04T11:18:25","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T15:18:25","slug":"labor-shock-us-adds-162k-jobs-in-august-4-sigma-beat-and-above-highest-forecast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goldtadise.com\/?p=705836","title":{"rendered":"Labor Shock: US Adds 162K Jobs In August, 4-Sigma Beat And Above Highest Forecast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In our jobs report preview we quoted JPM&#8217;s Market Intel desk which said that today&#8217;s August payrolls number will be a case of &#8220;<strong>good news is bad news&#8221;,\u00a0<\/strong>and sure enough futures are sliding\u00a0 and yields surging after moments ago the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/empsit.nr0.htm\">BLS reported\u00a0<\/a>that in August,\u00a0<strong>the US added a whopping 162K jobs, up from an upward revised 21K (July is no longer negative -23K), and the second highest monthly increase of 2026 (only March was higher)&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Lots of graphs \/ charts \/ explanations)<\/p>\n<p>The unexpectedly strong print has understandably sent Sept rate hike odds spiking and has hammered risk assets, although the real decider whether we get a rate move this month will be next week&#8217;s CPI print.
