That&#8217;s the reigning professional orthodoxy.<br \/>\nWhen folks can&#8217;t or won&#8217;t spend (pushing on a string), then Keynes told governments to Deficit Spend.<br \/>\nThey did.<br \/>\nEver since.    (Recessions are poison to politicians)<br \/>\nBut supposedly, it was more than policy.
