The statement included no pledge to commit warships or any kind of military or even logistical help, and so is somewhat of a facade and pure PR spectacle.<\/p>\n<p>These countries are:\u00a0<strong>UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Japan, and Canada<\/strong>. But again there&#8217;s no military role here: &#8220;We express our readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the strait,&#8221; the close US allies announced.<\/p>\n<p>One reporter writing for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2026\/03\/19\/strait-hormuz-coalition-allies-statement-uk\">Axios<\/a>\u00a0views the statement as\u00a0<strong>&#8220;largely a gesture to placate Trump, who has railed against allies for declining to help secure the strait and warned that a failure to do so could undermine the future of NATO.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has made clear that\u00a0<strong>no EU state is at moment considering &#8220;a military mission to forcibly break the Iranian blockade,&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0adding the EU favors &#8220;diplomacy and de-escalation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/these-seven-allies-concocted-hormuz-coalition-statement-placate-trump-which-failed\">https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/these-seven-allies-concocted-hormuz-coalition-statement-placate-trump-which-failed<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Am sure this will warm DJT&#8217;s heart to have so many words saying nice things but that have absolutely no commitments behind them.
