Lindsey Graham has described the conflict in the Middle East as \u201ca good investment\u201d<\/div>\n

The US will control almost a third of the world\u2019s oil and make record profits if it succeeds in toppling the Iranian government, hawkish Republican Senator Lindsey Graham told Fox News on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Graham made the comments as global oil prices surged past $100 per barrel, which US President Donald Trump dismissed as\u00a0\u201ca very small price to pay\u201d\u00a0<\/em>for the US-Israeli war against Iran, which was launched on February 28.<\/p>\n

Graham described the cost of the attacks as the\u00a0\u201cbest money ever spent,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0arguing that the purpose is to prevent the country from developing nuclear weapons \u2013 which Iran has denied that it intends to do, insisting that its nuclear program is peaceful.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen this regime goes down, we\u2019re going to have a new Middle East, we are going to make a ton of money. Nobody will threaten the Strait of Hormuz again,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Graham said, adding that the US will install a\u00a0\u201cfriendly\u201d<\/em>\u00a0government in Tehran.<\/p>\n
