Bill 11 could increase it even more"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On June 7,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/collectifmedecins.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Physicians\u2019 Alliance against Euthanasia\u00a0<\/a>joined with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/vivredignite.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Living with Dignity citizen network<\/a>\u00a0to express their great disappointment that Bill 11, an Act to amend the Act respecting end-of-life care and other legislative provisions, was passed in the Quebec legislature.<\/p>\n<p>Many people are not aware that Canada has two euthanasia laws, a Quebec law that came into effect in December 2015 and a federal law that came into effect in June 2016. Bill 11 amended the Quebec law.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-block ad-content ad-pos-top ad-inserted\" data-track-content=\"1\" data-content-name=\"ad-content\" data-content-piece=\"ad-top\"><ins id=\"revive-0-1\" data-revive-zoneid=\"1\" data-revive-id=\"b77c5f0e8df9d15247fef929e12002cd\" data-revive-seq=\"1\" data-revive-loaded=\"1\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"beacon_00441daf4a\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ads.lifesitenews.com\/www\/delivery\/lg.php?bannerid=0&amp;campaignid=0&amp;zoneid=1&amp;loc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lifesitenews.com%2Fopinion%2Fquebec-already-had-the-most-damaging-euthanasia-laws-in-canada-before-their-latest-expansion%2F%3Futm_source%3Ddigest-canadian-2023-06-15%26utm_medium%3Demail&amp;cb=00441daf4a\" alt=\"\" width=\"0\" height=\"0\" \/>The Physicians\u2019 Alliance and Living with Dignity reported that Bill 11 will expand euthanasia in Quebec in the following ways:<\/div>\n<p><\/ins><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>creating an obligation for palliative care homes to offer MAiD [Medical Assistance in Dying] (in six months);<\/li>\n<li>offering MAiD in cases of serious physical disability together with the other criteria of the Act respecting end-of-life care (in nine months);<\/li>\n<li>offering MAiD by advance request* (in a maximum of 24 months).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/opinion\/quebec-already-had-the-most-damaging-euthanasia-laws-in-canada-before-their-latest-expansion\/?utm_source=digest-canadian-2023-06-15&amp;utm_medium=email\">https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/opinion\/quebec-already-had-the-most-damaging-euthanasia-laws-in-canada-before-their-latest-expansion\/?<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On June 7,\u00a0The Physicians\u2019 Alliance against Euthanasia\u00a0joined with the\u00a0Living with Dignity citizen network\u00a0to express their great disappointment that Bill 11, an Act to amend the Act respecting end-of-life care and other legislative provisions, was passed in the Quebec legislature.
