Desperate staff speak up about what happened as Omicron swept through<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI showed up to one shift and there was just one carer per 45 residents and they only managed to find one relief staff member,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1wj398p\">\u201cIt was awful. The manager told me I had to work the floor doing caring and feeding, even though I\u2019ve never been trained in all the things that carers are taught how to do. Then the residents are just asking us constantly, \u2018When can I go out?\u2019, \u2018When can I leave my room?\u2019, \u2018When can I see my family?\u2019.
