It is a decision she must make for herself. When Government controls that decision for her, she is being treated as less than a fully adult human responsible for her own choices.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"speakable\">The ACLU however did not want to use the term \u201cwomen\u201d to refer to those who have abortions or the pronoun \u201cshe.\u201d So that quote was reproduced in this form with \u201cwomen\u201d substituted with \u201cperson\u2019s\u201d and \u201cshe\u201d substituted with \u201cthey\u201d:<\/p>\n<p>The ACLU also cut \u201cIt is a decision she must make for herself.\u201d That was arguably the crux of the quote but it was axed entirely.<\/p>\n<p>The removal of \u201cwoman\u201d is in response to objections that biological females who identify as male are \u201cmen\u201d and therefore \u201cmen\u201d can get pregnant and have abortions.The result is a rewriting of Ginsburg\u2019s celebrated writings:&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jonathanturley.org\/2021\/09\/23\/aclu-celebrates-ginsburgs-legacy-by-editing-out-her-actual-words-as-offensive\/\">https:\/\/jonathanturley.org\/2021\/09\/23\/aclu-celebrates-ginsburgs-legacy-by-editing-out-her-actual-words-as-offensive\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cThe decision whether or not to bear a child is central to a woman\u2019s life, to her well-being and dignity.
