It is all about the ECB meeting today.\u00a0\u00a0 The market was hoping for more details last month, but Draghi pointed to today.\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0The broad issue is well known.\u00a0 While growth has been strong, price pressures are still not, according to the ECB, on a durable path toward its \u201cclose but lower than 2%\u201d target.\u00a0 The ECB judges that\u00a0substantial additional\u00a0stimulus\u00a0is needed.<\/div>\n

It is currently buying 60 bln euros a month in assets, that consist of mostly sovereign bonds, but includes\u00a0supras, corporates, and\u00a0asset-backed\u00a0securities.<\/b>\u00a0At the same time, investors seem to accept that under the current self-imposed rules, which the ECB has modified in the past, there\u00a0are\u00a0about 300 bln euros in eligible securities that can be bought by the Eurosystem next year.<\/div>\n

Can’t fight the fed. ! Here too they prop up the market with buying asset backed securities. What happens when they quit buying the sov. bonds? Nobody else will, keep printing away. ( lines of credit).
