The Houthis are still advancing and taking more land along the Red Sea coast and have now fully taken control of the crucial shipping corridor that leads to the Suez Canal. The opposing Yemeni group backed by the Saudi government has officially announced its withdrawal from Perim Island and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

This means the Houthis have full control over 30% of global container traffic and the Saudis’ alternate energy route. If you check the map, it’s just a 20km wide corridor, with a narrow shipping path. You basically can see across if it’s good weather.
