The state is likely about to perform a tactical assault against an ostrich farm to kill 400 healthy birds.

Yup. No words.
This is about any challenge to the power of the state needing to be met with force, no matter how absurd. This is what happens in totalitarian regimes. No sense required. In fact, the more nonsensical the better, that way the power is remembered and feared because of it’s bizarre abitrariness. Fear is what is required of subjects, and it shall be arranged.
There are many, many times I’ve been ashamed to be Canadian, and this is one of them. In this country, the government boot is never far from your throat 🙁
