No surprise there, they had to do so. I also believe they tipped their hand. If they were going to overturn the appeal and rule for Trump, they would have scheduled it immediately in early October, as soon as the new session begins. Despite stressing the urgency and then scheduling for early November, I believe the appeal decision will be upheld and the overreach by Trump will be denied. They wanted to give Trump and his administration time to come up with a plan B. He and his advisors will need to come up with some other emergency to continue the Constitutional over reach. A war on drug infiltration, terrorists, etc.is likely to be created between now and the ruling.
This also likely stretches out the topping process in the stock market. While an initial correction is likely later this month or in October, by pushing the decision into November, if it does go against Trump, a short term crash is likely. Depending on what plan B is, will determine if we continue in a bear market or get a relief bounce.

They docketed the oral arguments for November …that’s a great sign they will side with Trump IMO
No rush to end the tariffs which would presumably have to be rolled back if they ruled them unconstitutional
The decision after the oral arguments wont come until likely next year IMHO

You obviously missed my analysis in your emotional response. They are giving the administration as much time as possible to come up with a plan when they allow the appeal to stand. They would have only rushed a decision IF the court had upheld the administration and the plaintiffs were asking for a Supreme court decision. Because the tariffs stay in place until the court rules there is no need to rush. As far as the stock market that was just an after thought that a top is building and if the tariffs are ruled unconstitutional the market would respond negatively to the resulting economic chaos.

They are signalling they will reverse the lower court by expediating the case
Trump and comp obviously already have a “backup” plan.they did not wait for this Supreme Court response to have numerous back up plans
They won’t need one though
This is another Article 2 situation..The Supremes have upheld every single one of these cases whare the president has discretion . If he says it’s an emergency because USA Trade deficit has become existential…where does it say in the constitution that judges can rule it is NOT an emergency
This is a slam dunk easy peasy case for a 6-3 conservative bench
