   That’s not all, Gavin Newsom is letting the insurance companies dictate what bills can be brought to assembly and be voted on

   “You want to hear what Newsom lets the insurance companies get away with in the state of California? Let me tell you;

   Imagine you’ve been paying every month for 30+ years for full coverage for your possessions and replacement if there was a catastrophic disaster. Boom, Newsom lets a catastrophic disaster happens, everything burns down, so now you want to get the 100% reimbursement that you pay for.

   Well, in the state of California, insurance companies are only legally required to pay 30% even if you’ve paid 100%.

   — That’s why we are working on Senate Bill 495. And it’s advanced out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee. This bill is intended to help victims of major disasters such as the fire. And this bill, we’re going to try to get you 60% of coverage, not the 100% that you’ve been paying for for 30 to 40 years every month, never missed a payment. And you’re like, why didn’t you do 100?

   And they tell you, oh, we wanted 100, but the insurance companies, oh, they didn’t want 100. They told us, we can’t have that.

   So the insurance committee chair forced us to roll it back to 60%. But 60% is better than 30%.

   Wait, let me get this right. So right now, the insurance companies, the commissioner of the insurance, dictates what our state assemblymen’s laws and bills have in California. Huh? That’s strange.”
