• Russia and China on Tuesday signed a major deal to build the long-delayed Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline.
  • The pipeline is set to transit gas reserves in Russia’s West Siberia to northern China via eastern Mongolia.
  • Timothy Ash, an associate fellow in the Russia and Eurasia program at Chatham House, said China has been “playing very hard” to get the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline deal over the line.
