In a result that mirrors that of the recent Canadian election, the Australian centre-right opposition has lost the election, and its leader, Peter Dutton, has lost his own seat.
With over 80 percent of first preference votes counted, the Australian Labor Party (ALP), which had endured declining popularity over the last year.
It appears the it will be a majority Labour government … so we will watch closely to see if it duplicates Keir Starmer’s UK switch to an orwellian style policies that occurred shortly after his government was sworn in. The Canadian difference is that Carney leads a minority government…..time will tell……

I’m betting they’ll make a deal soon enough. Trump needs a win, and Carney, despite his tough election talk, doesn’t need a scrap with the U.S. His job is to kill Canada, not to fight the Americans.
