Trump withdraws from leading the Ukraine/Russia peace talks.

   Predicable, pathetic and extraordinarily weak! Can’t say no to Ukraine. Can’t say no to NATO. Can’t say no to Israel. Just keep paying for all their wars. Could an American president be less effective? This is the same guy who just the other day said he was running the world!

   Perhaps this entire performance has been ALL about gaining the commitment of Ukraine to the Mineral Deal so that the US has some means to collect back some of the hundreds of BIllions poured into Ukraine as their war proxy? Could it be that everything we have witnessed was simple gamesmanship to get Ukrainian pen to paper? Now that they have the the potential of some gain (in the future) AND HAVE ENSURED THAT EUROPE CANNOT PLUNDER THE US 1ST CLAIM – well now it’s time to pull the plug and let Europe decide if there is anything in Ukraine left for them that’s worth fighting for.

   The US got what they were after….I don’t get the sense that they will continue to pay for ANYTHING regarding Ukraine — they will just walk …

   Shouldn’t take long to find out — according to other article headlines — today Russia ordered their two “reserve” armies to “engage”. Perhaps this is about to move from a SMO to a fully declared war (very different levels of Russian commitment).

     The U.S. won’t make a penny off this phoney deal. It’s ridiculous on its face. Rare earths? The world, including America has plenty of them. The problem is they are expensive to mine, and environmentally dangerous. Oil and gas? Trump just told Canada he didn’t need our oil and gas. He had plenty. Anyway, it’s a surprise to all that the “rump state” of Ukraine is swimming in energy. This is the art of the deal, in other words, solid horse shit. Trump will pretend it’s a trillion dollar deal, so he can say he turned Joe Biden’s two hundred billion dollar loss into an eight hundred billion dollar profit. People have forgotten that the spoils go to the victor. Putin will decide the circumstances of post SMO Ukraine.

       You may be correct – however – there may be an alternative scenario.

       That Trump doesn’t care if the US makes $$$ from the minerals deal — his objectives were not monetary:

       A) Stop EUROPE from being able to position themselves to profit off of the Ukrainian conflict (for which the US has provided most of the $$$). With this agreement in place is there ANYTHING that Europe or NATO can do in Ukraine that does not require approval from the US (after all the US now owns everything of potential value with $0 additional funds).

       and

       B) Provides the perfect opportunity for Trump to walk away from the conflict saying we got “something/anything” for our money SO I got a better deal for USA than Joe Biden did.

       It doesn’t matter if they neven get a penny from these agreements because TRUMP can say WE got control of everything that Ukraine owns as payback for our $$$ AND the future is a long time away. You can’t tell today whether the US will make nothing or a $T. This is pure showmanship – the ability to make nothing look like something such that the citizenry will rejoice! The $300B given to Ukraine is a rounding error in the overall annual deficit of any US Government and was spent funds — they were never going to get it back and had zero collateral. It also conveniently ignores the US decision making role in the conflict (starting with senior state dept officials) in the coordination of same.

       Perhaps the question we should be asking is: if TRUMP got what he wanted from Ukraine and now walks away — did PUTIN know that this was the objective from the beginning or did he think there was a legitimately chance for peace?
