Sadly, this might be true. It’s exactly the way Chief Justice Roberts views his job, as some kind of political mediator, calming the waters of any untoward discord. Conservatives would prefer that he do the actual job of a Justice, which is to interpret the constitution. Justice Barrett is a similar sort, a patrician seeking to moderate the influence of rabble. Over time, they have both been disappointing.
Besset and others should be charged with criminal negligence if there are not global $ movement tracking measures and agents in place along with release of these funds. Just as with the ‘premature’ release of the Epstein files, they better have a PLAN in place.
