Loading ...Lake Mead water level below the turbine intake
First time since the dam was built in the 30’s, power generation is off-line. Las Vegas was receiving approx 30% of their power from the Hoover Dam. Downstream is still receiving water until it drops another 200′. It will be years before that occurs but still……
Biked to the Revelstoke Dam (BC Hydro) on the Columbia River north of Revelstoke, BC today. Good flow and no water shortage. Snow pack melt. Downstream the water level is high but no flooding.
After a cooldown for the 4th, (99F / 75F) it will start pushing toward 110 / 85 later next wk.
Dry heat, of course.
Wonder what losing 30% means for their daytime AC.
How do they make that up?
It won’t be too long before the US looks to steal the water from north of the border to fix their water problem. Water will become worth more than oil!
