   It is unbelievable how much psychological damage has been inflicted upon the public.

   I’m all for a Stupidity Vaccine. Much needed. I really don’t care about the Adverse effects it would have. Anything is better than perpetual stupidity.

   Our local beach is much quieter now as the maskers still stay home in fear. Good for us, tunes, beer and good times without the Karens. If they return we shall cough loudly !

   I am wary of polls (and election results) in multiple jurisdictions. I am wary of much now, such as even results in ‘prestigious’ scientific or medical journals unless subjected to open debate and confirmation with similar sorts of studies, also discussed openly and freely. I do not automatically reject. I merely try to keep an open mind that is nevertheless skeptical.

   I am wary of generalizing broadly. One problem is that populations can be remarkably diverse. A related one is that denigrations of populations can be remarkably discouraging for the enlightened minority that might be needed to lighten the spark. (To exaggerate my point unfairly–“Ontario residents are idiots. We shouldn’t pay attention to any of them. They’ve obviously been brainwashed. We can just kiss them good-bye. Morons. They deserve what’s coming.”)

   The point unfortunately is much too correct however in that many people seem devastated by a campaign of psychological warfare that is so successful, and for which they are so poorly prepared, that they are not aware of it. They simply are oblivious of it as of a war to destroy them, very much including their psyches and intelligence. I do not know how many might be irreversibly damaged. I also hope they are not numerous, powerful, and messed up enough to destroy the lucid.

   There may be many who could go either way. There may be many who are pretending. I just hope.

   My opinions, of course.

     The recent massive London demonstrations were encouraging. For those who came there had to be plenty who could not attend.

     Someone made the point that in coverage of prior (huge) London protests related to Covid the BBC downplayed numbers even down to “hundreds” but now stated “thousands”, and further noted that internet comment sections this time were not filled by entities (hypothesized to be paid by the authorities) mocking the protesters as idiotic bigoted right-wing no-nothings who were going to infect each other and die etc. The propagandists, this person suggested, knew that there was such hostility to the covid narrative and such support for the protesters that the prior negative coverage and commentary would backfire, so they held off. I have similarly seen the suggestion that Johnson seems to be relaxing some restrictions not because the authorities want to but because they are scared of the amount of underlying hostility. (To be sure, they may be cooking up some extreme counter measures.)

   Y’know, if Vancouver is anything to go by, I’d say it’s even worse here. I posted last week about my experience at London Drugs, whereby only about 6% of patrons chose freedom over face rags.
   Today am just back from a greengrocer on Main Street. It’s a hot summer day and all their doors were open into the street, so plenty of air circulation. Lots of customers in the store, every one of them sporting the proverbial face rag. I walked in without and garnered some evil-eye stares, but frankly I’m so fed up with this brainwashing that I no longer give a s**t.
   It was the same at the local fish market a couple blocks up the street. Everyone (but me) merrily ragged up and perfectly happy to do so.
