Asset tax
They are hungry for cash and equality for Karen. Here in BC the gov’t already put an additional tax on property owned by out of province dwellers. Extra 10k/yr for the coffers. Now Justina thinking about adding another asset tax to try to collapse the market so Karen can afford a home. Yup, they think of a homeowner as a ‘lottery winner’ , omg.

“The objective is to identify solutions that could level the playing field between renters and owners,” said CMHC spokesperson Audrey-Anne Coulombe.
It’s estimated a national home sales tax would raise at least $6 billion a year for the federal treasury.
In a 2019 report, UBC researchers called homeowners lottery winners with an unfair tax advantage.
If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street
If you try to sit, I’ll tax your seat
If you get too cold, I’ll tax the heat
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet
Interesting. First they redefine home ownership as a bad thing and then they attack it with a tax to make it look like a good thing. And what can anyone do about it? To protest means to not pay “your taxes” when in fact it has nothing to do with taxes, it’s just stealing by the government. They start with “out of province” people but that’s probably just the thin edge of the wedge.
And do you suppose it’s all a plan to eventually make everyone a renter with no savings? Was it so long ago that a common goal of government was to help people buy a home so they could save money? It really is like we’re being ruled over by an occupying army. Restrictions, curfews, coerced injections, jailed for protesting, new taxes, censorship. Next is? whatever else makes us more dependent on them?
And also. Why doesn’t the money go straight to renters and not the government? City of Toronto pulled this stunt a few years ago when they started requiring licenses for cats. They said it was to support animal services and stray cats but actually the money went straight into the general budget. And the province of Ontario suddenly doubled car registration one year for no reason other than they wanted more money. Every car license plate x2. They said something “environmental” to sanctify it.
Didn’t Stalin put a tax on land as well? I think it was quite high. 100%.
