Inflation / Deflation
RINF is an etf I like to watch that is designed to measure this dynamic.
So far since it started in 2012 its been in a bear market…lower highs and lows…
Now with the CBs all starting to raise rates and remove QE….and Inflation rates already sub 2%…how will Inflation happen ?
Anyhow we have a chart to watch…
Thanks Fully,
But do note:
http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20160323006443/en/ProShares-Inflation-ETF-Change-Index
1. ProShares changed its benchmark to the Citi 30-Year TIPS (Treasury Rate-Hedged) Index April 2016.
2. That… “The level of the index (and this fund) will fluctuate based on changes in the price of the underlying bonds, not their yields”.
Summary Prospectus (how it works) here:

Thanks Paul…looks like its the same effect…measures Inflation Expectations…Still very low …and I don’t see how it goes much higher with rates tightening …anyhow its all interesting ( pun)
TIP:TLT chart does not reflect inflation…
since jan 2016 higher high and higher low
